About

Mageau Family Racing's Girl Trouble Funny Car is driven by third generation racer Courtney Mageau (26) .

Courtney's grandfather Bob got the Mageau Family Legacy going back in 1965  when he built his first race car that ran in the nhra stock eliminator class.

Jay Mageau, Courtney's father grew up at the track , began race driving at age 16 and still races today in the nostalgia nitro funny car ranks.

Courtney,  the youngest of four sisters who jr. dragster raced,  drove the families junior dragster as a child, and  when she came of age, began piloting the full size  Girl Trouble dragster.  She now drives the families nostalgia blown alcohol funny car.

Courtney graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Business.  She is currently employed as a HR professional in a large international firm  . Courtney spends her spare time racing, playing other sports, reading and occasionally volunteering for various entities.

Courtney's  father Jay named his old race car  Girl Trouble after  a particularly harrowing evening of family time with all  four of his then infant daughters.  When the kids began racing, he grandfathered the name to them and its still used today!

Courtney , nicknamed Koot, rates winning an IHRA national even as her biggest race achievement so far and has plans to move up the ranks in the future.

She recently became the first female to achieve her funny car licence.   In 2016 Courtney and her father Jay became the first father - daughter competition in funny cars in Canada, racing at the 50th anniversary of Saskatoon International Raceway.

Her personal best performance is 6.92 seconds in the 1/4 mile and 197.00  mph
